Whitehorse
The ferry ride to Skagway was uneventful. One funny thing did happen right before docking in Skagway. We were passing a small drainage that has a hydro project on it and I pointed it out to Dayna from the Solariam deck where 75 tourist came running cameras and binoculars in hand to the side of the ship I had pointed to. It was fun to see them all look for the invisible whales.
On the drive to Whitehorse we stopped in Carcross for a leg stretch and then settled in for the night at the Robery Service campground on the banks of the Yukon. It was a nice campground. Be aware you have to carry your stuff to the sites, so if you are packing a lot of stuff get one next to the parking area. We recommend #26.
Yesterday was filled with some shopping at the usual haunts of Canadian Tire and "the real Canadian supper store."
We also went to the pool it was a blast. For those who have not been it is a must visit when in the territory.
We are sitting in front of Tim Hortons. getting crullers. I am useing the Starbucks wifi from access the street. The guy at the skate shop (where Zane got his new tuque), said to go to Timmy's and to use Starbucks as it was faster and stronger. One more stop for milk , gas and ice and then north to the gold fields of Dawson. Internet connection may be sketchy at best until the weekend. So this may be the last post for awhile.

Captains Log
We are at the Ferry Terminal in Juneau waiting to load. It is 5:30 am. When we left the house at 5 am it was sunny and 48 degrees. We made a quick stop at the Breeze Inn for Bagels. We are eventually headed for Girdwood for Matt and Natalie's wedding. We should be in Girdwood by Saturday.
The journey will take us to Whitehorse YT today. We plan on spending a couple of days there and then to Dawson City YT. It is us so who knows we may make a wrong turn and end up in Inuvik.
Stay tuned. We will try to post when we have service.

Update
I was realizing I start many of my posts with the words"Update" and I suppose if I wrote more often this might be different, but I don't foresee this occurring, writing more often, so I guess everyone will just have to deal.
So I believe everyone at this point is aware that we are adopting again. Her nick name is Xiu Xiu so we have decided that is what we will call her until we hear differently from her. We believe her new name will be Hadley Ione Yue Hong Weiler, but it doesn't have to be official yet so we retain the right to change it. She is 8 years old almost 9. She has congenital cataracts, so her sight is not great but we have plans to help improve that. We really can't tell you much more than that because we don't know much more. Since it has not been a year since we adopted Scottie we are able to reuse out dossier. So what does that mean? Well there is a little less paper work and a lot less mail going back and forth between us and the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco. We still have long waits though and if everything falls into place perfectly we hope to be able to travel this summer.
We did get a matching grant from a great organization called Brittany's Hope. They offer waiting children grants who either have major special needs or are older. We are VERY excited to be part of this group. The way it works it that we have to fund raise $3000 and they will give us $6000. We have already started our fund raising efforts by throwing a BBQ dinner and really only have to raise a little bit n more. Thank you to our wonderful friends who helped make the dinner happen. We could not have done it without you! So for those of you who are not in town and want a tax right off, just go to Brittany's Hope Foundation /donate For the question where the funds need to go choose "Special Needs Adoption Grant" and just below that enter "Weiler". Thanks!!!!!
Okay in the paper chase we are waiting on our pre-approval for immigration, which I am hoping to receive in mid to late February. I will keep everyone posted in the Mile Post section of the blog as Mile Stones are met. I also left Scottie's Mile Posts up as well so if you are like me and love to compare the numbers that is also available to you.
